I noticed on my 1940 Master Deluxe 4 door there is a "ridge" stamped in the side of the cowl (on each side) between the front doors and the hood. This ridge lines up with the raised stamping in the hood and a similar stamping in the doors, making one long ridge going down the side of the car. On the Special Deluxe pictures I have seen, it looks like this short "ridge" on the side of the cowl, which is painted body color on the Master Deluxe, is replaced by a stainless steel trim piece a few inches long. Question: Are the Special Deluxe, (and the Master 85) cowls stamped just like a Master Deluxe, or is the stamped ridge deleted and a trim piece applied over an otherwise smooth portion of the side of the cowl. Hope my question makes sense. Thank you.

The Master 85 and Master Deluxe are the same. Stamped ridge.
The Special Deluxe is smooth with moulding attachment holes.
This goes for the doors and quarter panels also.
