I have that same job ahead of me but I have not researched it yet. Maybe Dean will jump in here. He has probably traveled this road.

Guilty as charged. blush

I only replaced the outer seals on Lurch. My reasoning was that I didn't want to mess with the inner seals. If some grease from the bearings seeps into the rear axle housing, that is fine by me. If some oil from the differential seeps into the wheel bearings, again, I don't care. Especially since Lurch doesn't travel much these days. Mostly on and off the trailer. At most, I'll drive him to a show that is less than 20 miles away.

I just wanted to make sure that neither grease nor oil seeped into the brake area.

I used SKF 16406 seals to replace the felt outer seals.

Cheers, Dean
