You can find specifications for -28 here. And I think -29 springs are the same

According to the 1928 and the 1929 Chevrolet parts books, both the front and rear spring assemblies are the same for 1928 and 1929.

Thank you for the information, I assume a good spring maker should be able to make springs from those spec's.
Is there a set point that a height measurement can be taken to ensure the car is sitting at standard height. Or do we just measure the angle (15 deg) of the spring hanger.
The old online chevy info item 4 GENERAL has :
Road clearance under rear axle housing 8 3/4 " approx
Road clearance under gasoline tank 13 1/2" approx **
I have 9" under rear axle housing.
16 1/4 " under tank , do you think 13 1/2" is a typo?
Body type tourer.

thanks Peter

A 1929 tourer will have 7 leaves on the front springs, plus 2 tension plates ( numbers 8 and 9 ).
The rear springs are also 7 leaves with 2 tension plates.(Also numbers 8 and 9)

Eaton Springs (Michigan)measure the spring arc of the still assembled spring from spring eye centres to the maximum depth of the arc on the main spring with the eyes.

They also measure the centre bolt location, and if reversed or standard eye configuration.

If you have difficulty with finding a local spring maker here in Australia , I suggest that you contact Eaton Springs, as they have the original specifications for early Chevs like the 1929, and they do ship internationally.
