Maybe a dumb question guys but even if a generator is bad shouldn't the main white wire from the regulator to the housing be reading at least battery voltage?

If I'm getting .5 volts with engine running then power from the regulator is not coming - or is the power supposed to be feeding back from the generator to the regulator?

Which side of the regulator are you testing from? My 37 has a cut-out, not a regulator, and my wires are not original so your color reference is lost on me, but if you are on the "bat" side of the regulator, you should be getting the battery voltage whether running or not.

I've not tested it at the regulator - only at the battery terminals and at the generator. So you've given me the right idea. I need to begin testing from the no voltage generator back and that next step would be the regulator.

Thank you.

Mike
