Ohio had window tags for 1952. To save steel for the Korean war.

I don't think that NC had any window stickers in lieu of regular yearly plates.

We had plenty of inmates from northern states, who thought they could speed through good old NC a-scaring our children, fair maidens and chickens a-crossing the road, to make sufficient plates. That is still the case. Agrin

Charlie: Those northern boys could not have been speeding as they (such as my dad) were headed for places like Ft. Hood or Fort Polk and they were draggin some heavy artillery so it was impossible to speed. Please keep in mind that they were doing this to protect your butt and deserve a little more respect.

Steve,

I sure didn't mean no disrespect to our men and women in uniform. Being a retired soldier myself, I can appreciate the difference. I was just kidding and meant no disrespect. No, sir.

No disrespect...Ok,lack of workers was not the issue...I think it was steel rationing...Of course in the green northwest, we waste nothing, and are the first to join the cause..Who knows maybe our window stickers were made out of yard waste????????????

Thank you for your service Charlie. I do realize your post was in jest however I do tend to be a little sensitive on the subject as my dad spent over a year in a VA hospital. He and five of my uncles were all fortunate to come back from overseas in one piece.

Steve, I thank them for their service and an thankful they all came back. Give you dad my best wishes. I hope he has recovered or is recovering and is being taken care of by the VA,

You may note that I didn't mention GIs at all in my initial post.

Actually, I love ham sandwiches! Like you, I only "indict" on occasions when it is deemed necessary. Agrin

I think that I have a sticker from Oregon, and, as I recall, it was issued right after the war....around 1946 as I remember. I can find it and get the exact date if needed.

JYD look around, it would be interesting to see another still in one piece.....When I was researching a vintage tag for my 48,many years back, I was made a wear that it was not produced due to steel conservation and I got to bet Washington was one of many states skipping years??As I mentioned earlier all the reproduction stickers I have seen out there are not close to the original

I may have missed it but did the stickers go on the old plate or on the windshield?

Every state that used a sticker the same regarding where the sticker went?

I checked an my original 1932 Chevrolet still has the correct and original Oregon sticker in nice condition and it is dated 1946. The sticker is attached to the center of the windshield in front of the rear view mirror.
