I have a couple of Potter trunks designed for the early thirties couples, cabriolets, and roadsters. What is the proper way to attached these to the rack? Jim

Bolts through the plywood bottom and through the holes in the rack cross pieces. Actually flat head screws might be better as the heads don't interfere with stuff put into the trunk

Thanks Chip. Does anyone know of a company that can fabricate the steel chrome strips that wrap around the trunk..mine are shot.

Thanks Chipper ! Yes I have made the stainless steel bars that attach to the US Made 1931-32 Trunk Rack. These are not for use on the extension trunk. I think you will find a picture of them with my pictures. I think I have material to make an additional 3 sets. I think that Ken Koontz made some a couple of years ago. I think Jim is after new stainless trims that are actually on the trunk body and lid itself.

Correct. I'm looking for the steel bands that go around the trunk itself. I found a gentlemen a few years ago who would fabricate them for two arms and one leg, a price in retrospect which now seems tolerable. He no longer is referenced on the internet.

Some reproduction trunks use a chrome plastic strip that duplicates the appearance of stainless strips on original trunks.
