At our region meeting today one of the members said that the state of Maine does not require ethanol gas and all stations have non-ethanol fuel. Maybe one of our Maine members could verify that statement. Might be worth a trip over the border to fill the old cars before storing for winter as its only 50 miles away.

Steve,
For you and others, there is an excellent website which lists locations of all stations selling non ethanol gas.
It is www.pure-gas.org

I'm vacationing in CA this week and note there are few places in San Diego which sell it. I just wonder how our San Diego Region members are managing and whether they have found any stations selling pure gas. We'll be relocating here in 2016 and this is a real concern, as I have had to replace fuel pumps and carbs after they were eaten by this lousy fuel.

I do note that most marinas sell the pure stuff as it isn't usable in boat engines either, so that will be my first place to look for it here.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

The pumps at the smaller air fields in Norway are selling non-ethanol gas, but due to strict regulations I think you have to be a member of the club to get the clean gas ( E 0) for your car.

The marinas here also sell the E 0 for the moment, but as the authorities have urged for adding 5,5% ethanol in all gas, this
could change early next year if we do not oppose it. Engine cut at open sea is a very risky and dangerous business.

Sorry, but more and more people are complaining as to the damage due to bio gas and bio diesel in Norway now. Why cannot the deciding politicians and the departments listen to what is happening in the real world?

Hope SEMA continues to influence the US gas market to keep some pumps in each district free from bio liquids.

Hi Bob,
Thanks and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family as well.
Yup, we hope to become San Diegans provided we can sell the house in VT next year.

I just hope we can find the "good gas" over there.

Cheers,

Rick

Solan,
I think the message from SEMA is finally getting across here in the U.S. as now many States are passing their own legislation to ban the stuff--the latest being Maine, and there are also grass roots efforts here in Vermont also. There is a national TV campaign afoot now also trying to counter the Ethanol industry's lobbying.

Solan,

If I am not mistaken, I noticed that during the time trials for the Indianapliss 500 Race, the cars were burning E15.

What is going on here? Surely they don't want those cars to stall owing to equipment failure after just a few laps.

What say ye to this seemingly promotion of E15.

Sorry for this obvious setback to your ongoing disparagement of Ethanol. talk

Charlie computer

BTW: I always thought those race cars burned propane or something other than gasoline. Can't think of what it was.

Charlie.....
How about these race cars are designed to run on the E15 fuel. That's pretty simple to understand. Our vintage Chevys were not designed to run on the Ethanol laced fuel. Therefore the parts and pieces of our vintage vehicles (and other equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, etc) don't hold up well to ethanol. Any further explanation would get into the politics of why we are getting ethanol forced upon us, and discussion of politics is a no-no on Chat.

'nuff said......meanwhile, I'll go downtown in Brandon, VT and pay $2.79 per gallon for non-ethanol gas for my '71 Chevelle so it runs well and doesn't get all gummed up.

BTW the non ethanol gas comes down to VT from our Canadian neighbors.
Do you have non-ethanol available where you live?

The V8 super cars (our Nascar) down here are running E85 but they rarely run more than 1 meeting per rebuild.
