Can anybody tell me what kind of outside visor I would need to get to fit my 1949 chevy wagon. I try to use the same one I have on my 1949 4 door sedan its a 2 piece accessory visor for 49-52 chevys but it wont fit my '49 wagon. Its about half an inch shorter from the rain gutters in both ends if I line up the center bracket. I would appreciate any feedback> Thanks Marvin

The genuine Chevrolet passenger car visor will not fit a wagon due to its taller windshield.Any of the universal adjustable visors such as a Fulton can be "adjusted" to fit.The ends or sides of the universal visors telescope into the center section - allowing it to be widened as necessary.

There are two styles of the Fulton-which was a common aftermarket visor.Prior to 1950 the Fultons had a small chrome support the "propped-up" the visor between the gutter bracket and side of the visor. In 1950 there was a chrome disc on the side of the visor-a triangular bracket attached to the gutter - and a wide chrome band around the front of the visor -that curved around to meet the gutter bracket. That was the most attractive visor and do see them on Ebay at times.

I know of someone who has a 1950 wagon. He used the two-piece visor by making a "spacer" for the center connection. Cut thicknesses of sheetmeatl the same shape as the meeting surfaces of the 2 ends of the piecee at the center. It was finished at the edges and you would never know. I may not be explaining clearly, but it is not any thing jerri-rigged looking. It is on a car that has earned some AACA awards, so I guess it looks okay! Not exactly correct, but...?
