Does anyone know where I can find the full body measurement stats (not just wheelbase/chassis, but full exterior measurements) for a 1969 Caprice Coupe? I'm googling everywhere and am not finding the width in particular.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hey bodg1951chevy,
Wondering if you can help me interpret the measurements, please? I see where it lists "Overall length" (at 215.9 inches) and then where it lists "Overhang" (front/rear). Are the Overhang inches in addition to or already included in the "Overall"?

Thanks in advance!

Overall is just that overall length. The overhang is the length behind or before the wheels.

Well, I went up to check out the Caprice this weekend and it turned out not to be all that it was made out to be. LONG story short, it was given a bad carb job (rebuild). It couldn't stay running after coming to stop lights. Confirmed while I was there that the carb gasket used was not the proper part. Owner's service history revealed it was taken to a Toyota/Subaru dealer...for a carb job...on a '69 Caprice. That and the breaks were pulling severely to the left, all made for an easy decision that there was no way I was going to drive it home. Upon approaching seller for negotiating price, no budge. So I walked away. Search continues.

Difficult to find accurate information, when trying to make an antique car purchase.

Much like having a friend "fix you up" with a blind date. When you ask what the lady looks like, the reply given to you is that she has a "nice personality'.

More cars out there, for certain.

Haha, good analogy. You're right, especially this time of year when it seems the "inventory" is a bit more robust. I already found another that has caught my eye, but like 90% of the ones that do, it is over a thousand miles from me. :-/

Good luck with your ongoing search.

F.Y.I., I was set on purchasing a 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe 2 door sedan. Long story, as to why. Car is shown in avatar.

I began my search in 1999, looked all over everywhere for more than one year, through all the popular ad places.

Finally found one that looked good, in an unknown online ad web site, with what appeared to be a HONESTLY written ad.

It was 750 miles from my home, but worth the trip .... and the ad was honest. No disappointments. Deal was made in June of 2000.
