Yesterday, I rescued an engine head from a machine shop that was getting rid of it. GM part number 837230, which I believe is an early-style 1935 head for the 207 engine. The cast date is L 11 3, which I'm guessing is November 11, 1943?
Anyway, the owner of the machine shop says that it has been magnafluxed and the valve seats ground. Nice and clean. Just the head, not valves or rockers.
Are there multiple years of engines that this head would go on?
After I hear from you experts, I'll list it in the parts for sale area.
Thanks, Dean

Hello Dean --
I assume that you mean 837230 head casting no with date of L 11 3 should be November 11 1933 instead of November 11 1943?? My parts book lists that head for 1934 ALL (exc. DC). Let someone else chime in here if I am incorrect. It does not list that head as fitting anything else, but better minds here will correct that statement.
Jim.

Yes, that is a 1934 Master car and truck head. The same head was used on early 1935 Standards BUT it was cast different for the mounting of the coil on the side of the engine a a few other minor details. Some day a 1934 Master owner that has a cracked head will be glad to get it.

You might want to post it "for sale" futher down on the chat page in that section. Also, look in the "Parts Wanted" section for someone who wants one, too. Thanks for the info. I am sure someone wants one.
