It'a 1947 Stylemaster. The way it has sunk into the ground the frame and lower body must be rusted badly.

To more specifically answer your question It was probably MADE either in 1946 or 1947. Looks like a coupe. Gene is right that it appears to be a 47 model. Can't tell about the paint color but because it appears to have been discarded for a long, long time it was probably a cream color. Maybe the owner couldn't stand the color any longer so he abandoned it in the woods while it was still fairly new. . Charlie

It is a 1947 made in 1947 as 1947 production did not begin until Jan. of that year.

Charlie: You must lay awake at night thinking up your wild witty wise responses to different posts. Enjoy reading your comments. Have a great Thanksgiving but beware of the green bean casserole as it just might have some cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup as one the ingredients. Dick

Thanks guys for your quick replies and the answer to my question. This old car is setting behind my house about 50 feet from my back yard property line. I kind of like it setting there. I was around 5 years old when this car was made so I can remember lots of people driving them as I was growing up. Thanks again...Bob in Lebanon MO.

Gene, Thanks for the correction. I didn't know that. Which prompts a question: When (what year) did Chevrolet begin producing next years models cars before the end of the current year? And was Cameo Cream carried over to any other year besides 1941. And, Why or why not? Thanks Charlie

Lacomo, While your car has a lot of sentimental value it likewise still has some monetary. Whoever will inherit it should be made aware of the parts that are still valuable so the car is not sent to a salvage yard before they are removed. I would start the list of valuable parts at the stainless and chrome. Great yard art and a wonderful conversation piece. I can imagine family (especially grandkids) and friends wandering out to see it. Thanks, Mike P.S. Just wanted to share a Michigan 48 friend at Hillards' from which I have liberated the stainless, vent window regulators, ash tray, and small front window garnish.
