Hello,
Can anyone tell me the brake lining thickness used on a 1927 chev 1 ton truck?
Also the id and od of the brake drums as well.

Last summer I replaced the brake linings of my 1927 1 ton truck.

It takes 3/16 inch thick woven brake lining. 1/4 inch thick linings will not work. I tried that and they did not leave enough room for the brake drum. $$ down the drain.

For the service brake (outside band), the dimensions are 2 inches wide by 38 1/2 inches long.

For the emergency brake (inside band), the dimensions are 1 11/16 inches wide by 36 1/4 inches long.

My spare wheels are buried in storage at the moment, so I cannot measure the drum for you.

bca here in australia has the linings in 3/16/ 4.8 mm and sell it by the meter there ph no is 0298247406 thay have rivets to ask for chris

my brake drums are a little worn but not to bad thay measure 312mm od 304 mm id i also have 2 brand new never used GMH stamped drums that measure 314mm x 309 so check inside the drum for a GMH stamp about the size of a 50 cent piece. the GMH ones would be ozzy made
