Am attempting to remove 32 cabriolet clutch and note reference to a clutch wire to hold the throw-out sleeve in so clutch can clear housing. If I don't have one, what's the trick in getting the clutch out?

The wire is really so that there is enough room for the clutch sleeve (the piece the carbon bearing pushes) to be removed along with the clutch while it is still connected to the three pivot arms. There are great photos of it in the 1932 Jim Handy film, vol 4 #8, titled "1932 Motor and Clutch". I'm trying to make one.
