I was waiting for that, but after re-thinking this I will never use them, and they will hang on the wall ,so I thought they could look good and I could always plate them as needed

I bought four different Eastwood paints when I was doing the hood hinges and other pieces. 1. Argent Silver 10001Z. 2.Tank Tone #10030Z. 3. Silver Cad 10022Z. 4. Clear Zinc #10280Z. VERY little difference between the four, except Tank Tone is FLAT. None suited me is why I re-stripped and had plated.

Now, Bruce, FYI, today I blasted the '54 jack I have to give to my Uncle who has some odd-ball jack in his '54. I ran out of time today, but tomorrow I plan to clear coat it with satin to find out what happens. Tune-in tomorrow, late.

Finished today. On the left. I tried the four Eastwood cans plus two others from the hardware store. As you can see zinc ages over time. The five pieces of conduit have been out behind the house eight years now. Notice the differences. The old piece of ductwork is twenty plus years old. I finally went with the Eastwood Silver Cad. Shown in the center on the duct pipe.

I suggest you go to Home Depot or the likes. Go to the electrical department and pick up a four inch metal box cover or any galvanized product that you like the looks of. Then go to the paint department a pick a couple of cans of paint that you think might work and test.

You may be able to detect that the jack I had plated is beginning to dull in places. Eventually it will dull almost completely.
