I have a 49' 1/2 ton and my oil pan is leaking. I was wondering is it possible to drop the oil pan while the engine is in the car so i can fix the leak?

Do you know where the VIN# is located on a 1950 1/2 ton pickup?

Cannot emphasize enough that you spend $25 bucks or so and pick up a shop manual. When removing the pan from the 216 there are some oil troughs that have to be maintained in proper alignment.
