My 48 Fleetline is missing the clip or bracket that attaches to the thermostat and holds the fuel line. Does anyone know what it's called, the part number, and where I could possibly find one? It might be easier to find once I know the part# or whatever it might be called.

I am not positive, but if I remember right, it wasn't a clip, it was a tab welded onto the gas line.

I don't think so Latigo - there's a hole in the thermostat where it get screwed in.

So I got my clip, thanks to Mike, and now I need to know what color it was painted - black, or engine grey?

Looked at my clip very closely and all I can see is black. Even though the one I made I painted grey, I'm going with black. Natural, no way!

I would say the clip was not painted as the fuel line to vacuum line were not painted. They were posibly bled. They would never have painted such a small part.

I am willing to accept that they were "blued" as were the small gas/vac line clips.
So... how does Gene recommend one finish the clip today?

How about clean them up and reblue them? You can get bluing from places that sell stuff to clean and maintain guns.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
