My nephew has a 1928 light delivery truck. Does anyone know for sure if this truck had a cooling fan shroud or if one was available from the aftermarket? He is having over-heating issues and can't pin the problem down. It has good water flow and doesn't leak out. Was thinking if we could direct the airflow onto the engine better and pull it more efficiently through the radiator it might solve his problem. Any ideas would be helpful.
Also, does anyone know what size tires this truck originally came with?

The 1928 parts book states that Cars(AB) and 1/2 ton trucks took the same hood. This is a longer hood than the 1923-1927 vehicles. It has 20 vents per side vs 16 per side on earlier models. This required a fan shroud on all 1928's with the 1/2 ton chassis. Wheels were 30" X 4.50" front and rear. Hope this helps. Steve

I think the shroud is in two pieces: top and bottom. It shouldn't be too hard to make a usable one from sheet metal just to help with the cooling. Then, you could look for an authentic one. Here's a picture of just the bottom part. Cheers, Dean ![[Linked Image from hotrodscustomstuff.com]](http://www.hotrodscustomstuff.com/OLD_SITE/Cars/28%20Chevy/1928-chevrolet-01-09.jpg)

Unfortunately, this '28 is being hot rodded. Fortunately, he's selling original parts. He might sell and ship the fan shroud. Located in far Northern Caifornia. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/wto/5268346737.html Cheers, Dean

I wonder if a four blade fan would work, I think the half tons and the 1 tons had them......Terry

I might know where there is a 28 fan shroud complete. I've seen pictures of his parts car but don't know if that particular part is for sale. I'll ask him.
