I remember reading ads many years ago for a Group or Company that was going to reproduce bodies for 1932 Roadsters. They were to be made of Steel and close enough to the originals to be used for a restoration. I think that the ads were in the G&D. I have always wondered if there were any of these produced. Does anyone remember anything about this?

The name of the company is Experi-Metal Inc. and they are located in Michigan. They made the steel 1932 roadster bodies along with sheet metal parts, fenders and etc. I believe that they stopped making the roadster bodies back around 1998 but their web site still shows that the 1932 Chevrolet roadster bodies are available.

I managed to get an original brochure 2 years ago for the experi-metal catalogue I believe was ralph McEwan of ohio.

I believe after the company shut down ** bowtie reproductions 29--32 parts ** in ohio bought the extra parts and still has some.

I purchased a pair of windshield posts off ebay last January or so, these are frameless posts where the glass slips into the posts and the glass sits against the cowl. They are chopped 3" says the experi-metal catalogue.

I will be selling them when my duvall/carter style windshield arrives from Australia for my 35 chev std roadster. I also have the metal piece that goes on a 32 under the stock windshield frame, plus the rubber insert to stop it and the rubber for under the metal piece.

There was a vendor at the 50th CentralMeet in Port Huron back in 2013 that had an unassembled one for sale. He had it all priced by each stamping, and I did not see or ask about a price for the whole lot.

I remember seeing the bodies at Hershey years ago and they claimed to have used original GM molds to stamp them. I'm not sure how accurate those statements were but people I knew that bought them were very happy with the match up both original and street rods.

Just to let everyone know, EMI no longer has the tooling for the 32 Roadster and parts. EMI is still in business, just not doing this side line as they once were. This mostly went away when Will Kriewall sold the company. I know most of the guys that were involved with making these parts. The tooling has all been melted down as the base material is worth more than the tool its self. What parts are out there are left over from when they were making them back in the 90's. I have a lot of parts from them which work with my Phaeton.

Also Bow-tie has enough parts to make up like 4 or 5 bodies from what I understand.
