Of course things most likely change from year to year. What year is the photo? I see pinstripes on the wheels...Joe

The Van Nuys plant began with 1948 production year and all pictures show 1948 Chevrolet cars and some trucks. I am confident that the pictures depict 1948 only.

Things to take note of:
Intake and exhaust manifold color, same as engine…
Carburetor color and finish
Water pump color
Coil bracket finish
Fuel and vacuum line routing

The pictures are 1948 because that was the first year for the tread design of the pictured US Royal tire + the exhaust manifold outlet is almost straight down and the tip if the 1946-48 style bumper is caught in the photo.
I would go back to my first thoughts that the housing for the generator was painted before the tag was installed along with the studs and end frame etc. The iron end frames were painted seperately from the housing possibly. Also a different gloss paint.

The reflection almost makes it look there is a stripe on it,which would make you think there is other deceptive reflections?

I am sure that is just a reflection as the vent tube and cap were painted with a fairly glossy black enamel.
