AC discontinued the 44-5 and 46-5 spark plugs years ago The present AC 45 is all that is available , I use them in all my cars, and they work fine. ...including in my 1950 that calls for the 46-5.

AC46-R is still in part stores. It is just a resister plug and works great. I set mine at .40 with good results.

Went to a local parts store, they looked up my 54 235 motor and gave me AC 43s. They work fine too.

The AC 43 is a very cold spark plug. Will gas foul if used for slow driving and a lot of cold starts. Was intended for heavy duty truck hauling. I am sure they were glad to get rid of them as they were slow sellers even in their day.
