Good luck! Fewer than 3500 were ever built. The only one I've ever seen was in a museum.

The 50, 51, and 52 wagons are almost the same as the 49 and not nearly as hard to find.

See my wagon at www.geocities.com/dlevault/52wagon.html

Thanks for the feedback fellows..and I've also seen a wagon in the L.A Petersen Museum a few years back and I've also seen a real 1949 woody wagon which makes me want to own one knowing that there werent that many made. Thanks again! Oh and by the way thats a nice wagon you got there DC_Matt, just wondering if thats a '51 grill on your wagon!!

49Bomb,

Yes, my '52 wagon has a '51 grill. I don't know when it was put on, but it is NOT uncommon to see '52's with a '51 grille.

Most of the chrome in '52 was bad because of a shortage of nickle (Korean war effort). They tried to use copper as the base, but I'm told it only lasted a few years from new. If my bumpers are any indication, the '52 chrome was no good. :)

If you're really hot for a '49 wagon, find a '50 and put a '49 grill on it. No one will know but you and me (and a handful of other guys).

Good luck with your search.
