Ok - I got the bracing brackets. I read somewhere that you only need one at 10 o'clock facing fender. I have three brackets for each fender. Also which end is up on the bracket

The bracket (one per fender) is intended tot act as a support for the fender and to reduce strain as the fender tries to pull away from the body (gravity, bumpy roads, someone sitting/leaning etc). The front half of the fender gets some support from the RB and it's brackets, so in theory, the fender bracket should go as far rearward as possible to provide extra support there, likely a couple of bolts past the top center bolt. With the easy use these cars get these days, the bracket is not likely needed at all except for judging. The curved part goes up and tight to and matches profile of curve on fender.

When I put my fenders and braces on my car it seemed like it would make sense that those brackets help support the fender where the leverage of the tail light bracket is greatest. Now the right tail light bracket was an option I believe so maybe my theory is wrong but when I worked the tail light bracket some it appeared while looking up under the fender that the brace helped control the movement in that area.

If you do a search you will find that this topic has been aired within the past couple of years and Bill Barker posted a clear picture of the mounting, on the hole immediately to the left of the tail light bracket.

I did a search looking for that photo because I have seen that post before. My search pulled so many posts I could not go through all of them. When you have an item to install that is new to the restoration it is sometimes not easy to figure out even though simple in design. That is the post I was looking for thanks- jmm
