I purchased a 1948 Chevrolet COE Holmes W35 Heavy Duty Wrecker a few months ago, out of California. I'd post a pic., but have forgotten how to add a image to a post on this site.

Spanky You must have collected nearly all the COE wrecker trucks in the US by now. You would have a nice toy yard to visit now. Tony

Looking forward to seeing this! I have a 1-ton Chevy wrecker that I'm putting a Holmes boom on - the original was missing when I bought it. Haven't made much progress on it since I'm still working on the 48 convertible's engine for September's 6 Cylinder tour...

If you are a VCCA member you can click on chef-chevy's profile and view his email address. 'Tis true, but not all VCCA members list their email in their profile. Another resource is the Member Roster (which is under Member Services) on the main vcca.org page. In the member details, you'll see their email address and usually a phone number. All available to VCCA members. Cheers, Dean

Thanks for posting the pic.s chef. I was real excited finding this one. It has the long wheelbase service body, that you don't see often. The GMC next to it is also a Holmes W35, but has the shorter more common service body that doesn't have a tool compartment between the cab and booms.

chef, you can post pic.s of it in the 46-48 section for me if you like. Hope you're able to get a COE. They are fun. This one was number 30 for me. My GMC COE is a '52 model 3 1/2 ton, with full air brakes. It was originally owned by the Washington State Department of Agriculture.
