The shop manual says to put several drops of light oil into the 2 oiling cups on the generator. I only have one...located in the end. There is a depression on the top which looks like it might have been an oiling cup, but it has what appears to be a permanent seal over it. Tried to pry it up..but no luck.
Do I maybe have a later model generator that only has one oiling cup?

If your 1950 has an original 1950 generator the rear oiler is verticle. Can be difficult to see.The 1951 was improved and the oiller is horizontal.
You car looked great in the G&D :cool2: .Black was not common on a Bel Air in 1950.Most were 2 tone colors. I had a Grecian gray over Windsor blue when almost new.Now have a Grecian gray P.G. sedan.

Thanks ChevGene....it's come a long way since it rolled off the truck a year and a half ago. Lots of work and Florida sweat!!
Yes, now I found the rear oiler, thanks...I remember it now when I had the generator out cleaning up the engine compartment. Getting old and forgetful!!
The number on the generator tag is 102667 8L 22

According to the Delco-Remy book, the number that is on your generator tag (1102667) fits 1946-48 Chevrolet. I hope that this information helps you. laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh

I have my generators rebuilt by a fellow that installs oiless bronze bushings in place of the original bushings so, while there is an oiling cup, I don't need to use it. Maybe yours was changed and the oiling cup was removed & plugged??

Good point Bowtie Bob! And, if the rebuilder installs a double sealed 6203 bearing, then the front flippy oiler doesn't have to be used either. yipp laugh laugh laugh laugh
