Does anyone have the production figures for the Advanced Design series of trucks from 1947 to 1954/55? I'm writing an article about these trucks, and I'd like to include some statistics.

Nicholas,
Production numbers for the AD trucks depends on gross vehicle weights, Chevy and GMC and production location. Then it can be difficult to separate out the automobile based sedan delivery which was considered a commercial vehicle and mixed into production or registration numbers.
The best numbers by type that I have ever seen are in "Standard Catalog Of American Light Duty Trucks" edited by John A. Gunnell published by Krause Publications, Iola , Wisc. 1993. This is a two inch thick book with an amazing amount of information regarding nearly every aspect of these trucks. Krause is now part of F+W Media but still located in Iola phone number 715/445-2214. They may be publishing an updated version of the book.
I can dig out some rough numbers for you but if you are a 'truck guy' then I reccomend that you try to obtain a copy.

GM only kept track of total calendar year production units when it came to the trucks {which were counted under "commercial units"}.

There was not much distinction between tonnage in the total count in the early years ....but they did distinguish between 1/2 ton & some of the other tonnages in the later years.

This means that everything from sedan delivery cars to 2 ton COE trucks were all lumped together in total count.

Production figures for the AD truck years are as follows....

1947- 335,434

1948- 389,960

1949- 383,345 total... {201,357 units were 1/2 ton under 5,000 GVW & 97,768 units were 5,001- 10,000 GVW, 27,884 units in the 10,001- 14,000 GVW & 98,591 in the 14001 to-16,000 GVW}.

1950- 494,753 total...{265,151 units were 1/2 ton or under 5,000 GVW & 102,696 units were 5,001 to 10,000 GVW }.

1951 - 426,151

1952 - 326,272

1953 - 361,838 {203,424 units were 1/2 ton or under 5,000 GVW &
71,571 units were 5001- 10,000 GVW}.

1954 - 325,151 {170,842 were 1/2 ton or under 5,000 GVW & 64,595 units were 5001-10,000 GVW}.

1955 first series.... no records kept on AD trucks after Dec.31 1954 that amounts to 3 months of no data in the 55.1 trucks.

If you round it all off....
It looks like just over 3,000,000 Advance Design trucks came off the assembly lines from late 1947 to early 1955. chevy

The production numbers listed above are for the Chevrolet trucks only.

The A.D. GMC trucks were produced at the Pontiac plants & I do not have any production figures for them as they are NOT Chevrolet produced vehicles & I never included them in my library of Chevrolet truck literature.
