Overlook all the extra stuff, just look at how the dash/garnish molding is painted. By this I mean, upper dash and door garnish is wood grain and the lower part painter a gray color? This look correct according to the '46 spec. sheet. Agree????

Spec. sheet
According to this, the Fleetmaster is Butt Walnut wood grain upper, with lower a Alcona Gray. See page 22 for garnish. Is Alcona Gray a tan color?

Gene, when over at Chevytalk, go to the 46-48 section and click on drdan post about his 46 question. I have invited him over here for help. He is 70 years of age and just unwrapped his grandfathers '46 after sitting undercover for the past 38 years and is starting work on it. Maybe if you also invite him we can get him over here.

Yes, the lower color is named a gray but more of a tan.
I did leave a message "over there".
He could check the back of the glove box door.
