Hi,
I have a 1930 SR. It has had a major body off rebuild and I seem to be getting some teething problems.

The car starts and runs for a few miles, but then starts stuttering, misfiring and belching smoke & flames out of the exhaust. First thought was the condensor, but changing that made no difference, so we are now changing the coil. The fuel supply is OK.
I hope that this is the answer - but if anyone has any other ideas I would be glad to hear them.

The car ran well before the rebuild, and even immediately afterwards it completed a 50 mile round trip

Bleaching fire might indicate one or more valves may need re adjustment. Also, check for possible vacuum leak(s) although less likely.

Most likely would be electrical. Check ground on condenser outside case. Other ignition components as well. Could also be ignition switch. If you don't find the problem come back with more information.

It could be a number of things causing the problem, so, as Chipper Dipper said, the more information that you can give us the better.
