For some reason, Ventshade info is hard to get. The theory is that those who have the info want to be the only ones who can I.D. these items when they surface. Ventshade was the OEM supplier for GM so if you are lucky enough to have them in original GM packaging, you can look up the GM part number.
As you have discovered, each individual Vent shade is marked with a letter and number which identifies it to those with information. They may also have a location marking, I'm not sure. The G means GM and the number tells the application. These numbers are not related in any way to the accessory part number which GM would have assigned to each set to identify it's application.
I had some NOS sets in GM packaging a few years ago and I wrote down the application, with correlating Ventshade numbers, before I sold them. If I can find my list, I will share that info with all of you.
It will be a week or more before I can look for the list so PM a reminder to me if I do not post something here.
