Did the 31 Chevy 1/2 ton truck have a rear bumper, and if so was it a one piece or two piece bumper? Someone questioned the single bar rear bumper that was on the truck when I purchased it, and thought rear bumpers were not standard equipment on the 31? I'd appreciate anyone who might have the correct answer.

Thanks!

I'm not sure on trucks but they were accessories in 1931 car & sedan delivery. What bumper you got when you ask for them may've been decided by what the dealer had in the parts room at that moment....Joe

Rear bumper was an accessory for 1931. It would depend on the body of a 1/2 ton truck if a rear bumper would fit and be functional. It is not for a pickup or express body. Might be for a panel or other 1/2 ton with body not extending past the rear crossmember. I have never seen any documentation either way. So my unofficial answer is "if the shoe fits wear it" (so to speak write).
