Purchased a beautiful 1950 Styleline Deluxe last October. Radio didn't work. Bought a new vibrator tube and installed in November. Radio worked fine until last week. No " hum" now when I turn it on. The light works. As far as I can tell the power source is ok, fuse isn't burned out. The supplier said there is a 1 year warranty on the vibrator tube, they will replace it just 1 time though. Too many other things that could go wrong, according to them .

Any other suggestions as what to look for ? I feel I might have gotten a bad tube , just some bad luck. I thought it would last longer than 7 months ?????

Thanks in advance for any help.

That is why owner repairs of radios based upon a suggestion of a friend don't always pan out. Do you ever consider why a part went out originally and then the replacements go out also? Gotta be a reason.

I suggest you send your radio to a qualified repairman where you get the best of two worlds. First, the radio will be more reliable, and if by chance it does go bad you have a warranty.

And you can always convert the radio to 12 volt am fm aux stereo with a one year warranty.
