Does anyone reproduce the upper gas tank straps, or what is done for replacement?

Chevs of the 40s.

The Filling Station has them listed as well don't don't seem to have the T bolt on the end. The T bolt is necessary.

I think those are the lower that hold the tank up, but the shop manual shows two straps with hooks on each end on top of the tank. My frame does have the slots for them. however, the new tank I bought has the original look but the seams are bigger and keeps it from going all the way through the frame like the original one would have done, hence the need for the upper straps. Anybody ever ran into this?

Is your car a sedan or coupe? I haven't seen the setup on a sedan but the coupe has no lower strap. There are two straps that go over the tank. The tank rests on two contoured wooden supports. The straps hook through slots on one end, go over the tank & the T bolts extend through the floor to receive a nut from the bottom. I don't know if I have a pic showing the area without the tank but I'll look through the archive.

OK, I'm afraid on that one I won't be much help.

I have a pair of the top gas tank straps that clip in to the frame and rear crossmember. The gas tank sets against the top straps. The straps that I have are from a 1939 sedan, don't know if they are the same as the 1938.

Finally got the chance to install the upper straps. Worked perfect. Thanks!
