Quick question for the experts. I was on my home frm a show last weekend with my 1930 Coach, I rounded a corner and everything went dead. Diagnosis on the side of the road determined it to be a fuel issue.
After a short tow and some time with the car I found that the fuel line was fulled out of the nut and ferrel at the gas tank fitting. It appears (speculating) that the shock arm may have come up and hit the line thereby pulling it out of the fitting. Line looks a bit crimped at the location just above the shock arm. I also found that the nut holding the ferrel and fuel line was cracked and separated. Also the fuel lines appears to be the original line (copper).
My question for the experts is do I replace the line with new SS,or do i just put it back together as is. how much of a crimp can be in the line before the car will not get enough fuel and run funky? Line looks to be 50% reduced in the area.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I believe the original line was steel. I'm sure one of the experts will be along to confirm or deny that, however if it were mine I would replace the line.

Correct....the original fuel line was steel, not copper. I would also replace the complete fuel line.

I order from FS on a regular basis but you can fabricate your own fuel line with material from the local parts store for about 1/4 the price and avoid the shipping.
