To start off, the transmission originally took what was designated as 600W gear oil. Current ratings equate this to 160. You can still obtain 600W from antique Model A parts suppliers or from the Filling Station (
https://fillingstation.com/), part number VT-40. While you're there, you should also order the Repair Manual for your 1931, part number DG-118.
