I am working on a `31 3 speed non synchro trans, and I need a exploded parts view of it. Also, what would be the correct oil for it. Thanks!

Hi SLB,

Welcome to Chevy Chatter. You'll find answers to lots of your questions here.

To start off, the transmission originally took what was designated as 600W gear oil. Current ratings equate this to 160. You can still obtain 600W from antique Model A parts suppliers or from the Filling Station (https://fillingstation.com/), part number VT-40. While you're there, you should also order the Repair Manual for your 1931, part number DG-118.

Here is a picture of the 1930 transmission which is similar to yours:

Once again, welcome.

Happy Motoring,

Dan
