1941 Chevrolet 4 door Special Deluxe
I am not able to complete the intended reassembly of my beloved car.
This car was originally purchased new by my father and passed on to me when I was a teenager. At that time it did not run but was original and complete. I obtained a 1956 Chevrolet and installed the 265 V8, transmission and differential leaving the ”˜41 otherwise original in appearance. Later the engine was upgraded including the addition of a 1957 Rochester fuel injection unit, high performance cam and a Chevrolet 3 speed overdrive transmission. It was great fun and very fast.
Unfortunately, after hitting black ice, the car overturned and crumpled the driver side roof and door. The car was up righted and driven from Nevada back home to the San Francisco Bay Area. I found another ’41 4 door Special Deluxe in great original and running condition. I separated both from their frames to swap bodies. I started to change the front end to rack and pinion steering and disc brakes. That is as far as I got.
I still have both cars and all their parts. I think that it is time that I find someone who would like to either pursue a course similar to what I had planned, or use the parts for a restoration (like I probably should have done in the first place).
Does anyone have suggestions on how to proceed?
