I'm new to this site and I'm trying to find out what my vin #'s tell me about my car There are 2126967601. Can anyone steer me(no pun intended)in the right direction? :)

Hi Greg 54hdt. Thanks for the response. It's a 52 chev 4dr sedan. the ownership says a model #126.Hope that helps.

I believe that the Canadian numbers are different than US so thats why no reply was given.Few of us down here have that info..sorry chevy

Hes right about the lack of information for the Canadian cars. You might have better luck if you post it on www.chevytalk.org in the appropriate forum. There seems to be a fair number of non-Americans there and you will also double your chances of getting a response. Greg 54hdt dance

As we had a lot of CKD building in here I had the same problem with my 51 Fleetline: the door jamb number related to the body and color and body series number: 51 2152 433. Wasn´t your car registered with the engine #? It seems to me that the foreign built chevies had no VIN as we now know it. My papers have the engine # and as the original 216 is long gone I had a friend engrave the numbers in my chassis, just by the driver´s side upper wishbone, and had some plates made with the original #JAM 472388. Try to see the number as a series of identifications for a export body: They may not have known at the time of shipment the future VIN to be given to that specific auto.
