I am going to replace the tires on my 32 special sedan. I am currently running 525x550x18 Lester's. I was thinking about going to 550x18 Firestone's. I wanted to know if anyone has a photo of there car with the Firestone's ?

You will want to make sure they will fit in your wheel well.

That is a concern but the I have to leave the current 525x550s a little deflated for them to fit.

BeachVette,

I have a picture of two with Firestone 550x18 tires.
Shall I PM or do have an email address I can forward to?

You will like the Firestone's the best. I had Lester's on Dad's roadster for years, never had to let air out or anything. They fit really nice. I went to Firestone's and they come in and out really nice when aired up to full pressure.

One thing to note, the Firestone's are a taller tire, you may find a little bit better performance when driving the car, at least I did.

I personally would say that 40 in your front tires is to much...your riding on the centers of the tires. Just my personal opinion.

I have used 35 PSI front and rear for many years and it has worked fine for me.

I agree....40 pounds of air pressure is too much....especially when you consider that after the tire gets warm the air pressure inside of the tire will increase.

Ok ok I'll reduce the air pressure in my tires
Looks like I'll be getting stronger fore arms lol
I check the pressure while tires are hot after running
About once a month or so

I've always heard that you check the tire pressure cold.

If you check it hot, you never know how the heat has affected the pressure.

Other thoughts? Dean

Yes, the tire pressure should be checked cold.
