Can someone tell me when I install Floor Felt Seals for the Brake & clutch pedals, does the Felts need to be lubricate before I install them?

Thank you,

I am by far any restoration expert. Just my gut feeling is to not lubricate these seals. Lubrication, whether it be oil, grease, light lube, whatever, attracts dirt, which I feel could inhibit the function of these pedals.

Mine weren't. They are there to block the wind, not lubricate anything.
