I can verify the 1925-28 as having engine splash pans. Not sure I have anything that will fit the 1923-24.

Ray, If it fits a 25 it should fit a 24. Do you have one you would be willing to part with?

I'll run a search in the lean-to and see what years I have.

The one thing that jumped out at me was the third piece, the one that goes horizontal in front of the engine. I was unable to locate any of the early ones in this brief search. I will continue to look and if I find the sides I will contact you.

The 1922, 1923 and 1924 cars did have a belly pan from the factory. Each year was different. I have an original 1922 unit, and friends have original 1923 and 1924 pieces. I was told that the difference in the 1923 and 24 units are due to the steering gearbox. I don’t know anything about the 1925 cars but Antique Radio is an expert.

It looks to me like the 25/26 ones shown by Old Era.au may be Superior V style. The K is different because of the cast front chassis crossmember and the '24 would be closest to the K style. I am not sure the K and V had a third (front) part that Ray refers to, I've never seen one. I think I may have an original K set somewhere.
Regards Al

The horizontal pan is for the 1925 K R. The side pans are also for the 1925 K R, however their are two types the difference is in relation to the fastening to the engine attachment.

Ray Thanks for taking the time to look and if you find something give me a jingle. My 24 is an early car and has the 23 front axle and steering box. It is an F series car so I know it is a 24. Thanks, Tom

ALL Chevys had the pans well into the 30's, not sure when they quit.
My 1914 has a huge belly pan, all one piece, that runs from under the radiator all the way back to under the tranny. I can't remember what year the transition came when they stopped being a full pan under the whole front end, and started being separate pieces attaching at the sides of the engine, leaving the oil pan below the pans.
Yes, the '25 has a third front piece, under the radiator and in front of the engine. The other two being on either side of course. I believe those two attach to the oil pan screws, and then to the frame rails outboard.
They tended to get discarded of course, because they are a pain in the butt to take on and off.

Dave, At your convenience could you take a photo or two of your pan? My email is in my profile. My folks live in MD, may have to swing by one day and take a peek at your car if you have the time. Tom

Will do. I did loan it out a few years ago to gentlemen in the local region who made three for the missing club members 24's. I will ask him if he made patterns.
I am moving so it may take a few days.
