Hello Tu papa,
Well, that's a pretty hard question to answer, but, if it was up to me, I'd say "go for it". Good Luck.

I meant to ask if other 29 owners have taken long tours, without trailers, with their 29's. And what parts they brought along. MY original message messed up. Thanks.

Hello Tu papa,
There is alot of information posted on this subject. Take the time to read it and you should become knowledgeable enough to be well prepared. Two helpfull posts are: "What tools do you cruisers carry?" posted by 'hardaground' 03/17/15. "Road trip check off list (unformatted)" posted by 'BigBob' 04/06/06. Make up your own provision list to inventory and keep track of what you have and carry. Hope this will help.

David,

Long distance touring with a '29 should not be a major problem. Look under the "You Should Have Been There" forum's thread "Coast to Coast in a '31". A nice detailed acccount of a trip across the US. Now, granted, this was done in a '31 and not a '29, but the differences in the two cars is not that great when it comes to a long distance cruise (in my opinion). Don't try to set any speed records and just enjoy the drive, and if (when) you run into problems, contact some local VCCA folks. They'll be glad to help. When cruising in my '30, I try to follow the advice journalist George Ade gave back in 1921: "All of our motorists are rushing past the things worth seeing, instead of stopping to enjoy them. ... Travel slowly, stop often."

Happy Motoring,

Dan

Read the stories on the Billy Possum website. After that talk to Bill and he will fill you in. The drive the '29 and '30 all over the place.
