Hello all,

I am new to the site and have a recent interest in the 1914-1928 Chevrolet Speedsters. I recently talked to a gentlemen in Oregon (where I live) who owned a 1928 and it really sparked my interest. I am hoping to meet some good people here and possibly build or buy a Speedster in the future or at least be as involved in the hobby as I can be.

Great to be here. I have always been a fan of Chevrolet's of all years as well as my family.

The VCCA has a Speedster Chapter. It is a group of like minded individuals who enjoy the thrill of building and driving period racers or "hot rods". We had one ('28 from Ohio) on a recent Chevrolet four cylinder tour in Mountain View, Arkansas. Dave and Chris had the complimentary outfits and even drove it in the rain. They and many others really enjoyed experience. Rivals babies and horses in attracting attention.

My regret is it took me 50 years to really get into these amazing vehicles.

That is really cool. We just had our annual Function for Junction here in Junction City, OR and I witnessed a 1928 Speedster (#120) from the Northwest Vintage Speedsters. It was by far the best car in the crowd as far as the cool factor and not something most people get to see everyday.

I look forward to learning about the vehicle and it's history.

Welcome to the VCCA and the Chat. I have been having a great time with my 1928 Chevrolet Speedster for the last few years. If you have and interest in Chevrolet speedsters you need to check out the VCCA Speedster Chapter;we presently have 20+ VCCA members from across the country.

I am the one Chipper referred to as being on the Mid America Tour in Arkansas a couple of weeks ago with a Speedster. My son Chris & I drove my '28 over 350 miles on that tour which included 50 - 60 miles in heavy rain. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! Below are a couple of photos.

That makes my installation of 1951 Chevy 3.55 gears in my '36 PU rear axle look like a short walk in the park.

I've recently discovered how to do professional looking engine turning, a metal finish texture that looks perfect on a speedster. If you don't mind giving me your email address I'll send you some photos. So far I've done some interior metal panels, the steering wheel spokes and the air cleaner lid on my '32 Ford roadster street rod. It looks very cool. Next will be the valve covers on the small block Chevy engine.
