For my 29 I have two questions:
1. For the oil line that comes out of the block to the block mounted valve, is there a gasket that goes on the line into the block, besides the valve gasket?
2. Now and then I need to add water to the radiator. If the water is not leaking, and the headgasket and oil are ok, where does this water go?
Thanking you in advance foe the help.

There is no gasket on the oil line through the block.

The water is being pushed out the overflow by air bubbles expanding when heated in the engine.

Hi,

The loss of a little coolant out the overflow tube can be fixed by installing an overflow tank. I do not know if a tank was available from Chevy for '29, but it is easy to install one.

Search the forum for +overflow +tank and you'll find a lot of discussions about these systems.

Cheers, Dean

A dip in the line on the pushrod side or a piece of wire wrapped around the tube so the small amount of oil that travels down the tube drips off on that side.
