Good Day Guys
I have a couple of U channels that go on the top of the windshield and is used to raise and lower the windshield glass. The one I have on my 32 Chev coupe is flat. My spare is bowed about 5/8 of an inch. It has an arch to it. Is the arched channel for some other year??
Bye for now
Mike

My Landau had a bowed top U-channel. And it's also the same as Cabriolet. Chromed.

Is your's chromed? That might be the hint that you need.

I have a 31 unrestored cabriolet. It has a bow and is chrome as Bill describes. It also has two screw holes about midway for the mirror mounting bracket. It appears to be the original mirror but I'm not sure. The mirror mounting holes may also be a clue.

I am guessing that fullbore has a upper windshield frame that was bent sometime in the past. Can't think of a frame with brackets for lifting mechanism that is not flat. Cabriolet and Landau frames are not used to raise and lower the windshield. They however are arched.

Everybody loves a mystery.
My top U channel is not chromed. It has lots of rust and the original satin finish is black paint. It does not have any holes in it. The arch is smooth and consistent across its length. It is not bent so as to have kinks in it. It is too smooth of a bend to be formed by hand. Maybe Buick, Olds, Cad or just not a Chev?
