My wife and I just bought a 1952 Chevy Deluxe, 4dr Sedan. I do not know much history of this car. Can someone help me out or lead me to some literature that will help me out? Also, I was told that the 216 cu in, 6 cylinder engine was not called the Blue Streak. It was called the Stovebolt. Can anyone verify that? Another question. Everytime I look for 1952 parts, I see the dates 1949-1952. Are all the parts in this group interchangable? Thanks for the info. Any info that anyone wants to share, it will be greatly appreciated.

Most everything on the 216 engine you have will interchange from 1949 thru 1952. Some things on the 1952 car will not exchange with the 1949 and 1950, the brakes for instance, they were changed in 1951 so 1951 thru 1954 brakes will fit. You can get lots of info from The VCCA magazine The Generator & Distributor, it comes monthly with a low cost annual membership in VCCA check in at ( www.vcca.org )some one said it didn't have a lot of technical stuff, and was mostly social, that isn't necessarly true, it is a wonderful reference source to technical advisors and it has one of the best classified add sections you will find for parts, cars and services all for Vintage Chevrolets and a list of regional clubs.

Oh! I almost forgot,

THIS IS "THE" web site for Vintage Chevrolet Chatter , as you will discover , just stick around for a while and get aquainted, We may not spell so good, but I bet we can relay the info you need so that you can understand it!!!!

The G&D is what "WE" make it. The Editors don't write the articles "WE" do.

Don't want to confuse RJS with this but>>>>>>The Blue Flame name was first used to describe the new combustion chambers used in the 1934 Master cylinder head. The name was seldom used until 1953 when it appeared on the Power Glide engine valve cover. The engine was also painted blue where all other 1929-53 engines were dark blue-gray color. Some suppliers sell the valve cover Blue Flame decal and indicate that it is for various 49-52 engines but this is incorrect. If your '52 Chevy is a stick the engine is properly referred to as a 216
