Prof. I don't know if the rock guards are interchangeable for sedan and sedan delivery or not, but try this link to National Chevy Association, they specialize in those years, and they also have some used parts and parts cars. http://www.nationalchevyassoc.com/index.cfm/1 You can email them your questions too.

Prof.,The rubber stone shields used on the sedan delivery are the same as what is used on a 150 series 2 door. This will widen your scope for the search. Most body trim on a sedan delivery are shared with the 150.For future reference the sdl. is a passenger car and shares all mechanical parts with a car.The 1953 is one exception. In 1953 all stick shift cars used the 235 engine -this was the "old" 235 with cast iron pistons and connecting rod dippers for oiling. The '53 sedan del. was provided with the 1952 216 engine. This is identified by the tall engine side cover that goes up and meets the valve cover. If your car has the original 216 most engine parts will be different tnan a 235.This will include the distributor, carburetor, and most engine parts as well as exhaust. It also retains the 1952 4.11 gear ratio where as the cars had a 3.70 ratio.

Mr. Mack thanks for the reply, I have tried to find out with national but no reply as of yet. I did notice that most all "normal" passanger cars in the '53 year, the gravel guards are in stainless, rather than rubber....while I would like to keep in completely original, if necessary I could change to metal. Any leads on whom might have such a classic stainless just sitting in their garage taken up space?

Chevgene: thanks for the info, it is all original... bone stock, never painted or anything. Seems to have the 216, with three on the tree. Any leads for the rock guards, and I would be forever in your debt. Tried to take mine off and now I have a pile of blace crud on the floor of the garage. Everywhere I have checked, no go... wonder if someone has a nos set just sittin......

Greg: they will fit, but are slightly different. I will continue to look for 53, but I do need a passanger side sun visor if you happen to have one
