31 Mystery Glass ???????? (picture attached)

My 31 has a piece of flat glass cemented to inside of windshield. It appears to have been there a long time. The windshield is not cracked or damaged. Maybe it was a homemade safety glass attempt. [img]https://www.flickr.com/photos/senginc/17195948964/in/dateposted-public/[/img]

Maybe it was to help defog ???

That was called a frost shield....it prevented the glass from steamng up and turning to frost in the winter.
You must have a "northern" car.
