I have recently acquired a '32 Chevy Confederate from my father-in-law. Getting it drivable so I can sell it. The cylinder head is cracked so I am looking to purchase one somewhere...casting #836718.

Can anyone point me to where I can acquire one?

Thanks,

Joe Elliott

Good luck finding one and make sure you bring a thick wallet. If you find one, make sure the seller has had it magnafluxed to check for cracks.

Hi there and welcome to Chevy Chatter.

Good luck in finding a 1932 head that is not cracked. Those things are more rare than a chicken with false teeth. If your head is repairable you might want to go that route instead.

Joe, I saved some cracked cylinder heads. Chipper convinced me to not junk them, that sooner or later I would find someone that could repair the cracks. The first two of these, 1931 & 1933 heads are now repaired by a shop in Mesa, Arizona. I will pick them up next Tuesday. The 1933 engine should be running in a few days. If there are no problems, one of the next two heads going to AZ for inspection and repair is a 1932 head. If that 1932 head is ok it will be for sale. Or you could call the machine shop:
