I have a few connecting rods that I can't find in the on-line 1929-1940 Master Catalog. Casting number 837684 I believe is 1935-1936? Also another rod number that I can not identify is 335512. Anyone know? Also why don't these two rod numbers show up in the on-line 1929-1940 Matser Catalog ? I forgot one more number 837107

The 1936 rod is easy to ID as it still has the X crosed oil groves but only one small spit hole . The previous 6 Cyl. rods had two large spit holes. Does the 335512 have the X crossed groves or no oil groves? That number is not in the 1935 parts book, thinking it is an original 1929 rod with no oil groves.

The 335512 rods may have been re-babbitted at one time. They have the X cross oil groves and they are shorter than the 32-36 rod. They measure ~7.0" center to center.

They are probably 1933-1934 Standard rods. The Engineering lists them as 6 17/32" and the Master at 7 1/2" OK the 1932 rod (which is the same length as the 1929-1931 is shown at 7", they measure from the center of the wrist pin hole to the center of the crankshaft journal hole. They are probably early 1929 rods rebabbited.

Connecting rod casting numbers 29-31 836512 32 836601 33-36 ex CC DC 837684 33-34 CC DC 473188
I expect that the 335512 is a mis-read of the casting number.

The 1945 edition of the 1929-42 parts book has some of the forging numbers. Has a bunch of other casting and forging numbers as well. Some are replacements so have to be careful to not rely 100% on the numbers. Other numbers have come from the rods removed from Chevrolet engines over the past 45+ years. Basically chalk it up to experience and writing things down occasionally.
