Never see it....but I seem to remember I found a 48 radio that not only had AM but short wave bands....memory is sketchy, but I think it had a similar face, but the knobs were chromed....ring a bell with anyone??

The only multiband radios were the 1941 and 1942. Perhaps you are thinking of the 1946-48 steering column control radio which had 5 preset stations.
