I've heard there is a first & second design axle shaft for a 1932 car. Is this true? Where does someone purchase new axles for a 1932? Is The Filling Station the only source?

Billy Possum makes replacement axles. Think they only have the early '32 and not the late one.

The early '32 has a bigger OD on the bearing surface than the '30-'31 and same size taper. The late '32 has a larger taper so requires a different brake drum hub. Below are specs.

NOTE: The late 1932 axle shaft was announced in the June 1932 Service News. The early axle was discontinued and all production and replacement were switched to the late axle. 1925-1932 axle shafts can be interchanged by matching the nut, hub, wheel bearing and differential side gears to the axle shaft, and by modifying the grease seal. The outside diameter of the side gears and the wheel bearing is the same for all.
