Is it a big chore to install a 292 six in a '51 Chevy 4dr sedan?
The engine in the old girl gave up the ghost about a month and a half ago, overheated and my son kept driving her to get her home, and the rest is history.
Will we need the tranny to the 292 or is there an adaptor so that the 3 speed in the '51 can be used?
Thanks in advance, Bob

I don't know what all you will have to change but that sounds like an ideal engine, I drove several trucks with it and it was a very tough reliable engine, My cousin ran one in his 1962 two wheel drive pulling truck back in Missouri and has a room full of 1st place trophys. I will ask him I do know he used the old cast iron granny 4 speed tranny, and it works in my 57 C6500 with a 261, You may luck out and do a bolt in, wish I knew.
